More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential, providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the proper use of our senses.<br>Health happens, according to Ayurveda, when the mind, emotions, body and spirit are all balanced. This occurs through proper thinking, diet, lifestyle and proper use of herbal remedies. Living in health and balance is the key to a long life free from disease.<br>What is &#8216;Tridosha&#8217; orthe Theory of Bio-energies?<br>Vata pertains to to and ether elements. The energy is generally seen as the force, which directs nerve impulses, circulation, respiration, and elimination.<br>Pitta pertains to fire and water elements. The dosha governs metabolism example, the transformation of foods into nutrients. Pitta is also responsible for metabolism in the organ and tissue systems.<br>Kapha pertains to water and earth elements. Kapha is responsible for growth and protection.
