Vaccine registrations for all those above 18 years will commence in the next 48 hours, said RS Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority (NHA), on Thursday.
“All those above the age of 18 can register on CoWin by April 24…the vaccination process and documents remain the same,” RS Sharma said.
Besides indigenous vaccines Covaxin and Covishield, Russian vaccine Sputnik V will also be added as an option at some centres, he said.
He further said more centres and private facilities are being set up for a faster vaccination process.
Moreover, private firms have been asked to publish vaccine time table on
CoWin platform to help people book date and time
. “Private firms/industries need to share information on vaccination of employees numbers on CoWin platform,” he said.
Also, any case of Adverse event following immunization (AEFI) after vaccination will be monitored, RS Sharma said.
1. Log on to cowin.gov.in and enter your mobile number
2 .An OTP will be sent to your mobile number via an SMS
3. Enter the OTP and click on the “verify” button
4. Once the OTP is validated, the “Registration of Vaccination” page will open up
5. Enter details required in the “Registration of Vaccination” page such as your photo ID proof. You will also be asked if you have any comorbidities. This can be answered by clicking on ‘yes’ or ‘no’
6. Once the details are entered for registration, click “Register” button at the bottom right
7. You will receive a confirmation message on successful registration. Once registration is done, you will be shown the “Account Details”. You can schedule your appointment from the “Account Details” page
8. There will be a button indicating schedule appointment. Click on it and schedule your appointment and voila, you are done
9. Citizens are also allowed to add three more people linked with this mobile number by clicking on the “Add More” button at the bottom right side of the page. Enter all the details of the individuals to be included and then click on the “Add” button
10. To book your appointment or vaccination, you can also use the Aarogya Setu app. A separate tab has been created which will allow you to fill in some details like your name, age and sex and register yourself for the vaccination
The
Covid-19 vaccination drive will open for all persons above 18 years from May 1
. As part of the “liberalised and accelerated Phase 3 strategy of Covid-19 vaccination”, all persons above the age of 18 years will be eligible to get Covid-19 vaccine jabs.
Recently, several states including Kerala, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and
Madhya Pradesh
announced free vaccination for all people above the age of 18.
On Wednesday, the
Serum Institute of India said it would be providing its Covishield vaccine at Rs 400 per dose
to state governments and Rs 600 per dose to private hospitals from May 1.
The Centre had launched a
nationwide vaccination drive on January 16 for healthcare
and frontline workers and expanded it to those above 45 on April 1.
As per the government order, the vaccination shall continue as before in Government of India vaccination centres, provided free of cost to the eligible population as defined earlier ie, health care workers, front line workers and all people above 45 years of age.
